Advent Season 2011

November

27 - Advent Giving 2011: Local & Global giving opportunities are available at the Serve Table on Sunday mornings. Local Giving: Adopt-A-Family with Love INC. Global Giving: Gifts for African Communities with Gate OneSeventeen.

December

4 & 11 - Local Giving: Adopt-A-Family with Love INC. This is an Advent giving opportunity to help provide for a local family.

11 - Children's Program: You won't want to miss our annnual children's Christmas play.

11 & 18 - Global Giving: Gate OneSeventeen. Find opportunities for Global giving Sunday morning at the Serve Table, and online:  www.groproject.org.

18 - Caroling & Cocoa. At 6pm join us for a time of caroling fun followed by cocoa and cookies as we love on one of our neighboring communities. This is a Real Life Community tradition not to be missed. 

24 -Christmas Eve Service: "God With Us"- South Middle School on Saturday evening at 7pm.

25 - Christmas Day Service: "God With Us"- South Middle School on Sunday morning at 10am.

Fall 2011 Calendar

SEPTEMBER

17 - Sats@theM. Flying M CoffeeGarage in Nampa at 2pm. Join Pastor Debbie and others for a parent's time out! :) It's a time of great discussions, fun family ideas, and enjoying coffee and treats.

17 - Africa ENCORE Presentation. Saturday at 6:30pm at South Middle School. Please RSVP to Pastor Debbie.

22 - Author of The Shack, William Paul Young speaking at NNU. 7-8:30 pm.

OCTOBER

30 - Join us for a Fall Festival October 30th following church. On this day feel free to wear your fun costumes to church. Real Life will provide dogs and drinks. We ask that every family bring side potluck items to share. We will have a lot of fun activities including face painting, gunnysack and 3-legged races, bobbing for apples, pumpkin decorating (BYOPumpkin) and MORE!

30 - Halloween Sunday. Children wear your costumes to Sunday School! Adults- feel free to dress up also!

NOVEMBER

5 - Rake Up Nampa. Once again we are participating in Rake-Up-Nampa.  The date for this year's event is Saturday, November 5th.  This event is being coordinated by Real Life Youth, but is open to ALL people at Real Life. The day of you will need to bring gloves, a rake, and lunch. The meeting place for the event is Lions Park in Nampa at 8am. Email Pastor Dan to sign up. Signups end November 3rd. 
6 - Daylight Savings Time starts Sunday morning so remember to "fall back" the night before-- and enjoy your extra hour of sleep!

Love & Logic

 

Every other Sunday morning at 9:00 AM at South Middle School.

Dr. Jeff and Traci Wright are doing a "Love and Logic" parenting class. This is the same class that Jeff runs out of LIFE Counseling Center.  Childcare is provided but you will need to buy a workbook.  It really is an amazing curriculum with amazing leaders.  The class has started but it's not too late to get going with it.  RSVP to Pastor Debbie.

AUTHOR OF "THE SHACK" WILLIAM P. YOUNG AT NNU

 

September 22 from 7:00-8:30pm.

Swayne Auditorium in the NNU Brandt Center- 507 Fern St, Nampa.

The Shack is one of the top 70 New York Times Bestsellers of all time.

Young, father of six, wrote The Shack as a Christmas gift for his children in 2006.  Friends who read it began giving copies to their friends until May 2007 when Young and two of his partners pooled their resources to print the first 10,000 copies. By September 2007, Young had an international distribution deal. To this day there are over 4.4 million copies in print, translations in over 35 foreign language editions, and a growing list of countries where The Shack tops the charts.

During the evening presentation, Young will share his personal story and what prompted the writing of this novel. The public is invited to attend this free event at 7 p.m. to 8: 30 p.m. in Swayne Auditorium in the NNU Brandt Center, 507 Fern Street, Nampa.  The event is open to the public.  For more information call 467-8841 or e-mail alumni@nnu.edu.
